The Bobcat Stadium Expansion – Phase 1A Project consisted of expanding and renovating the existing west side of the stadium grandstands at Texas State University in San Marcos, Texas.
The expansion project included 33,557 square feet of new construction, renovations to existing facilities and site improvements. New construction included upgrading required supporting infrastructure and the addition of a two-level structure erected above the current stadium press box. The two-level structure consists of a club level with a bar, lounge, 436 premium club seats and associated support spaces, a suite level with 15 luxury suites containing 268 new premium seats, a usable roof designed for a future 3rd floor, a new partial level connecting the existing press box and new structure for entry and access from the west side of the site.
The existing press box renovation consisted of mostly interior renovation with some exterior improvements. Site improvements included a new entry plaza, fencing, parking and relocation of the existing throwing practice area.
Spire was retained by the program manager on behalf of Texas State to provide cost analysis and estimating services for the project. Spire developed a Basis of Estimate to provide supporting information for the Preliminary Cost Estimate developed for the stadium expansion. The format of Spire’s Basis of Estimate (Basis) was predicated on the Association for Advancement of Cost Engineering International (AACE ) Recommended Practice No. 34R- 05 – Basis of Estimate, a component of AACE ’s Total Cost Management Framework.
